Stephen Harper Brilliant release. Majestic pop wth a nod ro progressive music. I would think this would appeal to Cardiacs fans, although in no way is this derivative.

Cullen Ln. I think I just broke the record for fastest notification-to-bought-to-downloaded on Bandcamp, lol. I've been looking forward to this record for a while! SIKED to listen to it, as I know it'll stimulate all my brain follicles in just the right Abel-y way. Never give up, you're a beaming light in the world of experimental pop music, Abel! Favorite track: I Know Fact From Fantasy.

Yes 03:15
Yes! Some happiness Is hard to get, for most of us impossible Yes! This ugly mess has most of us Move up and down and up again Until their hair falls out And everything they care about Yes! You can be smart and sweet And still in need of hope A microscope is not enough To see what love is left for you And all your special needs Crying out but no one sees Get on your knees and beg I have given so much, a meaningful touch An amorous look, a record or book You can’t have enough of those The minimum job and sometimes on top Forgetting the clock, it’s not that I’m soft It happens to everyone I’m paying my tax, I’m paying the rent The elderly cross, I give them a hand The gesture is everything I played as a back on the school football pitch Despite a clear lack of relevant skills Couldn’t get any crosses in I’m kind to my wife, accepted that life Can be a bit rough, I’ve suffered enough You don’t have to question that A dog is in pain, I throw it a bone A coin for the poor so he leaves me alone And never come back again I open the door, except to my house You better stay out, especially now With all the pandemic stuff I worked really hard to get where I am You maybe should start giving a damn ‘cause I deserve some love I deserve some love I deserve some love

Inbetween 02:15
I have seen the movies Haven’t read the comic books I don’t like smoking I just like the way it looks I think I’m on it I know what those hipsters mean I’m nothing standard I am something in between I don’t curse with cancer Except around my hardcore friends I’m not a dancer Guess that makes me human then I'm not a loner But I can’t think of a social scene That I belong in I am something in between Toeing the line Don’t make me decide No form will be signed I’m half of a kind Thank god I’m not like you Desperate to wear the shoe Thank god I’m not like you Desperate to wear the shoe Thank god I’m not like you Desperate to wear the shoe Thank god I’m not like you Desperate to wear the shoe

Unintentionally I thought how would it be If I didn’t follow orders Pick a fight in a bar, hit some guy with a car Let it crash in a corner I can’t say I know ‘cause I am good Made for real life soaps and parenthood I know fact from fantasy Unintentionally I thought how would it be If I served in the army Would it prove too intense Would the blood on my hands Terrify and alarm me? I can’t say I know, 'cause I’m not there I don’t have the strength and I don’t care I know fact from fantasy People hardly achieve half of what they believe To come close to fulfillment Should we try all the same, Or enjoy being lame Not pretend to be brilliant? I could make a change for what it’s worth Raise my fist and claim a better earth But I know fact from fantasy

Live Music 02:28
Some band you don’t know But all your buddies go Ever felt like spending most of your hard-earned cash On some jerk with a bad moustache Talking’s undesired And earplugs are required There’s not much else to do but putting it on your phone At least have something to show at home No one can hear what they actually sing And if you’re short, then you can’t see a thing Cramp in your legs and a beep in your ear What in the hell made you want to go here This next song is new So you’re the lucky few And you can watch how we’re getting our asses kissed We are pretty big narcissists Up till the moment they’ve finished their set You are surrendered to what’s in your head Grappled by strangers and showered with beer What in the hell made you want to go here

See those kids? Push until it fits Waste some good Potentiality Grown ups wait Working in the shade Brace their walls Scrub their weaponry Future anthems on my nightstand I will guard them with my life and See that they don’t see the light Until the time and place are right Must look good On the photoshoot Almost there Take a couple more Halfway through Everybody knew No big deal That’s what friends are for I can’t wait to share my brainchild Must be hard to all stay sane while Waiting for that crucial day, I’ll Show some skin to ease your pain Big news soon Friday afternoon Start out fresh Use a different name Glad I’ve found Electronic sounds I’m reborn I am not the same Future anthems on my nightstand Art is like expensive wine, so Save your kind words and excitement You will need them come the time I Leave my chambers dressed in white, then Even those who said I’m shite can See what sort of genius I am Everything is going fine

Hero 02:05
Fell down Climbed out of it That sounds fierce doesn’t it Almost wouldn’t be here What a survivor Thank you I value it Careful, i’m still a bit Fragile but it’s only a scratch Less than you would expect Thank god Let’s alter that: Thank my self-confidence Backbone made out of wood Thoroughly tested “Hero”, wouldn’t call me that Merely someone who had Courage and used it for good You would’ve done so too Get your image on the news Put your prominence to use Drag your ass into a bar Take the DJ home with you Crush the world under your shoes Lose it all on drugs and booze Why not write a fucking book On the heavy toll it took Have everybody say: look I can be a hero too I can be I can be I can be a hero too

Welcome 02:53
Why so rude Go make your own damn food A little gratitude Would be in place All these years And what do I get here Not one remorseful tear Not one embrace Am I that dumb or have people become more indifferent None even try to appreciate the life that I give them It’s more than enough that I willingly offer you welcome welcome welcome If you screw up, you can start anew It’s all a joke to you It always was Jokes are great But we should get things straight There can be no debate That I’m your boss All that you eat has emerged from the seeds that I planted I for your sake broke my back and you take it for granted Be a bit thankful and I’ll be your friend, say you’re welcome welcome welcome I deserve some praise I deserve applause The only one who stays Focused on the cause If you were curious: there’s a luxurious hotel Just down the street, if you think I’m not treating you so well Oh only now you are wondering how, well you’re welcome welcome welcome I deserve some praise I deserve applause The only one who stays Focused on the cause And if you disagree Don’t hold up your hand Wait until I’m gone Then you’ll understand
8.
You’re just here to see me fail Pick me up, no one will All my dreams and all my plans There’s not enough funding and not enough fans But there’s no there’s no The issue is you There’s no there’s no The issue is you I could fall from the stairs Break my neck, no one cares Life goes on bit by bit There’s no people listening, I might as well quit But there’s no there’s no The issue is you There’s no there’s no The issue is you There’s no there’s no The issue is you There’s no there’s no The issue is you don’t seem to want it enough You don’t seem to want it enough It’s everyone versus you And there is nothing you can do

TED Talk 03:38
All alone in the woods Trying to find something good As if your mom sent you out again Except back then it Didn’t feel out of line To rely on your mind Did you kill your imaginary friends? Well perhaps these fifteen steps can bring them back Taste a slice of my advice and simply do what I do, my new way to Deal with the stress And find the success you Long for, top-drawer, hardcore Thank me when you’re there You at times, let me guess, Think your life’s meaningless You remind me of someone here Who I hold dear, well Don’t be scared, I can help I believe in myself That’s the key to accomplishment and joy Ask your pride to move aside and let me in Know your place, it’s no disgrace to simply do what I do, my new way to Deal with the stress And find the succes I Longed for, top-drawer, hardcore Stick to the plan And try it again on Someone slightly weaker Thank me while you can

about

Debut album “Smug” is Abel Natürlich's latest attempt at making something unpredictable yet satisfying. Its ten songs are mostly short and very dense, resulting in a restless theme park ride past the world’s biggest egos, including, but not limited to Abel’s own. With the album’s lyrical themes often used as an excuse to be more bombastic than ever, Smug can be seen as a spiritual successor to his former Cardiacs-inspired rock band Very Good Friends. However, this time it’s Abel doing almost everything himself in his bedroom. Some slickness was lost and a lot of personality was gained.

about

Abel Natürlich Amsterdam, Netherlands

Abel is impatient, often values quantity over quality, takes humor seriously and envies artists who have no self-awareness. If this all sounds terribly pretentious to you, wait until you hear his music; some of it is way cooler than you think right now. ... more
